A Love for Bridal That Began Early
I have loved bridal for as long as I can remember.
In high school, on my walk home from the bus stop, I would often stop at a small local store simply because it carried bridal magazines. Those magazines captured my attention in a way nothing else did. I would spend hours studying designers, imagining weddings for different venues, different seasons, and different women—quietly creating entire weddings in my mind long before I understood that this could become a career.
What fascinated me wasn’t just the dresses. It was the way a gown could belong to a place, a moment, a feeling. Bridal felt thoughtful. Intentional. Meaningful.
That early love never left me.
Remembering a Different Kind of Shopping Experience
also grew up during a time when shopping for something important felt very different than it does today.
I remember elevator operators. I remember when purchasing clothing for a special occasion meant being taken somewhere special—like J.L. Hudson’s—where there was someone who truly knew the products. Someone who checked whether shoes fit properly, whether a dress needed tailoring, how it should be cared for. Someone who had worked with enough clients to be honest about what suited you, what didn’t, and why.
It wasn’t about selling more.
It was about doing it right.
That kind of experience—personal, knowledgeable, and respectful—has become increasingly rare.
